Suteki Da Ne

I found these stunning vintage Japanese buttons not too long ago. I'm not sure how old these are, but the sculptural and the detailing are just astonishing, and well-made too.
Usually, I waited a while before I actually start to make something out of them. But, I knew right off the bat what I want to make out of these buttons. Jewelry, of course!
You wouldn't even recognize these are buttons if I didn't mention it. It'll be our little secret ;)

Yukari - SOLD OUT

A pair of vintage Japanese buttons with seashell detailing and vermilion enameling were bright enough that I toned it down with faceted rounds of soft peach aventurine, freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Midori - IDR 295.000 / USD 38

You know I gotta have green. These amazing vintage Japanese flower-shaped buttons with different green colors of enamels in them and rhinestones in the middle were already an eye-stopping. But I can't just stop there, can I? Had to add more juicy lime green of briolette quartz, lemon green of olive jade and some Swarovski crystals.
